IE Compatibility view for Perfect Browsing experience
Thanks Windows for introducing Compatibility View for Internet Explorer Browser. Today I faced some problem to open some page of my project in Internet Explorer 8 version. This project was build for best support on Internet Explorer 7. Our project was performing very well on Windows XP on IE7. But some features were not showing while browsing using IE8 or above in Windows 7. It was giving some java script (js) related error and pages were unable to open.
Sometimes some website you’re visiting doesn't look right. It shows up as a jumble of out-of-place menus, images, and text boxes. What's going on? One possible explanation: The site might have been designed for an earlier version of Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer recognizes that the webpage isn't compatible, you'll see the Compatibility View button on the Address bar. Try clicking it. Or just click on 'Tools' on the command bar, click 'Compatibility View' there directly, or click on 'Compatibility View Settings'. If you click 'Compatibility View', the current url's all pages will be compatible with your browser. If you want to compatible other url, then just enter the web address in the page what comes after clicking 'Compatibility View Settings' and then click Add button. Here I am going to set my 'localhost' compatible with current version of IE.
In Compatibility View, websites will be displayed as if you were viewing them in a previous version of Internet Explorer, which will often correct display problems. You don’t need to click the button for a site after you’ve done it once—the next time you visit the site, IE 8 or above will automatically show it in Compatibility View. (If you ever want to go back to browsing with Internet Explorer 8 or above on that site, just click the Compatibility View button again.)
Now I am able to compatible my site with higher version of IE. Thanks Microsoft again !!!.
